WATER AND WASTEWATER ANALYSIS LABORATORY

        The Water and Wastewater Analysis Laboratory is equipped to measure physical, chemical, and bacteriological parameters of water and wastewater. The major equipments available in this lab are Jar test apparatus, COD apparatus , BOD incubator, Turbidity meter , Calorimeter, Muffle furnace, Conductivity meter .

MATERIALS TESTING LABORATORY

        The materials testing laboratory is equipped with Universal Testing Machine(UTM), Torsion Testing Machine, Beam deflection Test apparatus, Spring Testing Machine, Extensometer , etc  to measure the properties of materials such as impact strength, tensile strength, compressive strength, hardness. Through this lab students can acquire hardness of the materials like steel brass and aluminum, and impact value of the materials like MS, brass and aluminum. This helps to find out how they utilize the building materials in the field.

SOIL MECHANICS LABORATORY

        Soil is one of the most important engineering materials. Determination of soil conditions is the most important first phase of work for every type of civil engineering facility. Soil properties are determined by both field and laboratory test methods. In this course, students will learn several laboratory tests that are very commonly performed to determine different properties of soils essential for the design of foundation and earth structures. Triaxial shear apparatus, CBR apparatus, Direct shear apparatus, Field density measuring device, Three gang consolidation test device are the major highlights of this laboratory. 

 

 SURVEYING AND LEVELLING LABORATORY

        Surveying and Levelling Laboratory has various instruments such as Total Station, Theodolites , Dumpy level , Plane table,  Chains and its accessories, etc to provide an extensive understanding on the measurement of distances, vertical and horizontal angles, and elevation. Moreover, Students can measure the area and volume of the boundary which in turn helps in Railways, roads and bridges. 

 

HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING LABORATORY

        The Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory helps the students to understand the theoretical concepts of the courses Fluid Mechanics and Applied Hydraulic Engineering. Students can able to the suitability of pumping system for the public water distribution system and study about the different types of turbines depending upon the quantity of water available in the sources like dams etc. The major instruments available are Orifice Meter Setup, Venturi Meter Setup, Rota meter Setup, Centrifugal Pump / Submersible Pump Setup, Reciprocating Pump Setup, Gear Pump Setup, Pipe Flow Analysis Setup, Pelton Wheel Setup, Francis Turbine Setup, Kaplan Turbine Setup .

 

CONCRETE AND HIGHWAY ENGINEERING LABORATORY

        Concrete and Highway Engineering  Laboratory has facilities for conducting practical classes for undergraduate programs. The various  equipments available in this lab are Concrete Mixer Motorized , Vibrating Table, Deval Abration Testing Machine, Vee-Bee Consistometer, Marshal Testing Machine,  Marshal Automatic Compactor, Compaction Factor Apparatus, Aggregate Impact Tester. Through this lab students can test the basic properties of ingredients of concrete and to find the strength properties of fresh and hardened concrete. This lab also contains the equipments for various tests on bitumen to check the suitability in pavement construction.
